Activewear Trends To Watch This Year
Take a look at the must have trends we've loved for 2019.
There is nothing like activewear to brighten your mood.
Athleisure, Sports Luxe, Athluxe – any which way you call it, is not going anywhere. And haven’t we come a long way since sportswear was simply for sport?
We looked into some of our favourite trends for this year and what is yet to come.. plus which brands are giving us major inspo.
There really is something for everyone. So, there’s no excuse to not spandex up and step on out.
The Americana trend focuses heavily on bold colours, block branding and classic sportswear silhouettes re imagined. Drawing heavily from the retro nineties & taking notes from track & field, you can expect to see lots of stripes and colour blocking across classic tee’s, joggers and jackets, if you aren't seeing it already.
Tommy Hilfiger has shown us that deep down we all love red, white and blue.
Is you are a "self-care" junkie like most of us here at Slyletica, then this one is for you! Bath Leisure is all about muted tones, relaxed silhouettes and absolute comfort. This really embodies athleisure at its peak. Think luxurious, textured earthy fabrics in interchangeable pieces that can be worn seasonally. Key pieces are the light weight runner, relaxed leotards and textured anoraks.
Nude is the mood. Nicky Kay shows us that a muted palette is the way forward.
For the performance-based purchaser. Tech-Tility focuses on streamlining functionality and comfort. This trend is thoughtfully curated with a tech-heavy palate, think vibrant pops of colour, smooth metallic and iridescent opaques. Better represented with statement crops, seamless leggings and structured outerwear.

Nike X Off-White The @nike c/o Virgil Abloh “Athlete in Progress” collection salutes the unbreakable confidence held by runners. The international running community embraces the power of self-belief, consistent from the unprecedented marathon performances of ’84 through the continued efforts to break boundaries in ’19, and in every fight for a personal best or world record. While times may not be equal and races are won by one one-hundredth of a second, runners, though self-reliant, share the drive toward consistent progress. For the “Athlete in Progress” collection, @virgilabloh taps Nike’s rich heritage in track and field. The assortment balances performance product with post-run apparel and footwear inspired by Nike’s storied running shoe designs. Drops Globally 27 June 2019. #RUNREVOLUTION #NIKE #NIKERUNNING #NIKEWOMEN #VIRGILABLOH #OFFWHITE #ATHLETESINPROGRESS
The OG of sportswear and masters of the trend.
All-in-one pieces designed for Yoga and Pilates are looking to be the next big thing. Allowing for fashionable flexibility of movement without any of the worry of shirts and leggings coming untucked. The devil is in the details with these pieces, think elaborate straps or cut outs, paired with panelling or mesh to complete the look.
